The artisans and crafters are out in full force, preparing for the annual Medowie Lions Club Art and Craft Show.

The show will take place this weekend, on friday and saturday 5 and 6 October at Medowie Community Hall.

Over the course of the event, there will of course be the exhibition of artworks in various media – all of which will be for sale.

There will be craft stalls featuring local, quality handmade goods including woodwork, lead lighting, jewellery, children’s clothing, candles, dog leads and coats, and lots more.

A display of working, scale-model steam trains is sure to delight the youngest and oldest budding artists or crafters, and there’ll be a face painter available during the day too.

Refreshments will be available during both days, offering home cakes and sandwiches, tea, coffee and soft drink.

A ‘make and take’ workshop is bound to be popular this year, offering the chance to create a handmade card and take it home at the end of the lesson.

A number of awards will be up for grabs during the event, including; a $250 people’s choice award donated by the Medowie Bull n Bush Hotel, a $150 adult photography award donated by Medowie tyre and auto, a $75 senior school photography award and a $25 junior school photography award, as well as lots community donated raffle prizes to be won in the raffle.

If the opening night with food, drinks and bubbles sounds like your kind of celebration, you are invited to attend the official opening on Friday night for $10 per person.

Helen Riemann, Art Coordinator for Medowie Lions, told News Of The Area, “We are looking forward to another wonderfully successful event, and invite people who have never been before to come on down and see what we have this year.”

Medowie Lion, and Art Show committee member, Adrienne Bayly said, “We have all worked so hard to make sure this event is a success, and have really focused on their being something for everyone to participate in.”
