Medowie home invasion, man, 33 has been arrested FEATURED Medowie, Ferodale, Campvale by NOTA - July 11, 2016July 11, 2016 A man has been charged following a home invasion in Medowie. Last night Sunday 10th July, sometime around midnight, emergency services were called to a home on Rosewood Drive, Medowie following reports of a home invasion. Police were told that two men armed with a knife and a bat, forced entry into the home and threatened the occupants. While in the home, one of the men allegedly cut a 23-year-old woman in the arm, causing minor injuries, before stealing property and fleeing. Officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command arrived a short time later and arrested a 33-year-old man nearby. Following a search of the man, officers allegedly located items stolen from the home. The items were seized and will undergo forensic examinations. A crime scene was established at the home and was examined by specialist officers. He was refused bail and appeared at Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Monday 11 July 2016) where he was again refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 7 September 2016. Initial investigations suggest that the incident was targeted. Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
