Another local business has come out with their hearts on their sleeves and organised a stellar event to raise funds to find a cure for Breast Cancer.

The staff and clients at Medowie Plus Fitness 24/7 on Ferodale Road ran a fundraiser over the weekend at the ever-growing and expanding Medowie Sports Centre.

The team ordered black Plus Fitness singlets to be emblazoned with the slogan ‘Fight for the Cure’ and sold them to patrons prior to the event, with all proceeds going to the charity.

The morning of the event kicked off with a junior boot camp for the kids, run by the trainers.

The children had a fantastic time, and it promoted an enjoyment of fun and fitness, promoting healthy lifestyles.

A barbecue sausage sizzle was cooked by staff, finished off with pink glazed donuts, donated by the wonderful Bakery team at Coles Medowie.

Raffle tickets were sold in the lead up to the event, and on the day, with a wide variety of prizes donated by Medowie businesses.

A Ferrari ride was also up for grabs, donated by a co-owner of the gym.

A Medowie mum won the prize, but graciously donated it to 14-year-old car enthusiast, Blake Kelly, who had the time of his life.

Gym Manager Adelaide Brady told News Of The Area, “We raised around $1,400 and we’re really proud of the effort everyone put in to make this such a fantastic fundraiser.”

Well done to Medowie Plus Fitness for hosting such a successful, charitable event and raising much needed funds for this worthwhile cause.
