Medowie joined in the celebrations and all schools took part in this year’s festivities hosting book parades through the week. This year’s theme for book week was ‘Australia! Story Country.’ Our local schools got behind the theme, and many a Ned Kelly, Gumnut baby, swagman and Galah were seen at local establishments. Another special aspect to book week is the announcement of the National award winners, as it gives a wonderful list of books for families to look up for their children to increase their love of learning.
