The Men’s Shed is part of the revitalisation of Boomerang Park after Port Stephens Council formally adopted the Boomerang Park Plan of Management at its meeting 26 April.

The plan provides a framework for the management of Boomerang Park as a community asset in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, and sets out a range of uses designed to make it a centrepiece of Raymond Terrace.

The plan has cleared the way for a number of projects including a fitness trail, children’s playground, and skatepark.

Greg Kable, Council’s Group Manager of Facilities and Services, said the opening of the Men’s Shed is another positive step in the rejuvenation of the Park.

“Boomerang Park has long been an important place for the people of Port Stephens and we’re looking forward to seeing more people using the site for a range of purposes,” he said.
