This weeks’ nominations included Signet leader Frances Chan of Grahamstown Public School was awarded for her role in assisting younger students.

Joshua Kirkpatrick also received his award for his generosity in assisting younger students, he is an “upstander” on the buses that take students to and from Hunter River High.

Irrawang High Schools recipient of the PBL award for the week was Elijah Scofield who made an impact on the community through his commitment to fundraising for the Red Shield Appeal.

Kodah Gillett of Irrawang Public School is an environmental warrior in the making as he collected rubbish at the skate park without being asked.

While Mia Curnow of Karuah Public School received her award for encouraging an upset child to play with her.

Medowie Public Schools Hannah Glassey collected and donated some of her toys to Rivergum Grandparents to provide disadvantaged children with toys to play with.

Ebony Wildsmith of Raymond Terrace Public School helped students from her school and other schools at the Starstruck performance and rehearsals.

Salt Ash Public Schools Jackson Wolinski received his award for his compassion at the GRIP Leadership Conference and at the ANZAC Day March.

Dali Bobako of Seaham Public School was awarded for handing in money which she found.

Colleen Mulholland-Ruiz of MarketPlace Raymond Terrace told News Of The Area, “MarketPlace Raymond Terrace believes that teaching the students PBL is definitely a way of teaching the children well and letting them lead the way to a better future for us all.

“It has brought the younger and older generation together to understand and respect each other,” she said.

The responsibility, compassion, respect and citizenship of these students is exemplary.
