A MAN died in a crash at Raymond Terrace over the weekend.

At around 6.30pm on Sunday 26 August, a Holden sedan was travelling south on Adelaide Street, when it collided with a northbound Toyota four-wheel-drive.

The driver of the Holden, a 35-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage before being freed and taken to John Hunter Hospital, however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 39-year-old female driver of the Toyota, and her teenage passenger, were treated for shock and taken to John Hunter Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police are conducting inquiries into the incident.
