The pursuit was terminated a short time later, when it is alleged the car was being driven at a speed of 160km/h in an 80km/h speed zone. Following inquiries, police attended a home in Pacific Avenue, Anna Bay, and arrested an 18-year-old man. At that time he was given a roadside breath test which returned a positive reading. The man was conveyed to Nelson Bay Police Station where he returned a breath analysis reading of 0.021 (special range). He was given a field court attendance notice for police pursuit (Skye’s Law), drive with special range PCA and P2 Licence holder exceed speed over 45km/h. The man appeared at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 13 February 2017. His licence was suspended by police and has been confiscated.
