Man airlifted from bushland in Watagans National Park region Regional News by NOTA - June 2, 2015 A man is receiving hospital treatment after being airlifted from bushland in the Hunter region today. About 4pm on Sunday (31 May 2015), a man camping in the Watagans National Park contacted police. He reported seeing another man two days earlier – on Friday 29 May 2015 – getting out of a car and entering the bush. When the car remained in the same place on Sunday afternoon, the camper decided to raise the alarm. About the same time, a 39-year-old man was reported missing by a family member. Police have been searching for the man, with the assistance of NSW State Emergency Service volunteers. About 10.50am today (Tuesday 2 June 2015), the man was located in dense bushland about 200 metres from Murrays Run Road. At 2.20pm, the man was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. He is being treated for hypothermia and minors cuts and abrasions.
