Malicious damage house fire at Nowra National News by NOTA - May 31, 2015 Police have charged a woman following a house fire in Nowra this morning (Sunday 31 May 2015). About 3am, emergency services were called to Quickmatch Street after reports of a house engulfed in flames. Fire & Rescue NSW were able to extinguish the fire. Police have been told; a 59-year-old woman was visiting the home of a 62-year-old man when they retired for the evening. About 2.50am, the man found his bedroom was on fire. The man and woman were able to leave the house. Following inquiries, police spoke with the 59-year-old woman who allegedly assaulted a female police officer. As a result of the punch, the police officer suffered minor injuries. The 59-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station. She was charged with two counts of malicious damage by fire (DV) and assault police. The woman was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow (Monday 1 June 2015).
