Sea Eagles celebrate soaring to the top of the ladder.

THE Macksville Sea Eagles soared to the top of the Tooheys New Group 2 Rugby League ladder with a 26-4 win over the Coffs Harbour Comets last Sunday.

Elijah Edwards wreaked havoc in the middle of the park with penetrating runs as the Macksville powerhouse created space for his teammates to exploit in the wet conditions.

The Sea Eagles applied relentless pressure which paid dividends when the ball landed in the hands of the slippery Beau Langford who weaved through the Comets defence to score the first try.

Former Sydney Rooster player and Comets Coach, Brandon Costin, gave high praise to the competition leaders.

“Macksville completely outplayed us, they were too energetic and enthusiastic.

“They have some really talented players, their go forward in the middle is second to none and they have a great kicking game.

“We will need to work on our ability to absorb pressure and in turn how to apply pressure to opposition sides,
we have won one game from four and as a side I know we are better than what we are producing,” said Brandon.
