DESPITE the 160 plus mls of rain leading up to Friday, club captain John Fortescue declared the course open on Saturday.

The decision was justified with players commenting how well the course played.

Macksville Auto Services were the sponsors of the Stableford event won by Justin Welsh one shot ahead of John Summerville.

Justin, a junior, just keeps on improving – it wouldn’t surprise to see him in A grade before the year is over.

Justin’s aunty Cheryl Fortescue won the ladies competition ahead of Lorraine King.

Because of rain only two days were playable in the Mid Week Competition.

Neil Cuneen and Dave Poole both finished on 36 points – Neil winning on a count back.

A count back is determined by the player who scores the most points on the last three holes.
