Local business gives back Bulahdelah, Wootton, Nerong FEATURED by NOTA - March 15, 2016 Local business is important to the area and it’s great when local business gives back to the community too. This is an annual donation from IGA Supermarkets named The Community Chest Donation. The donated money comes from the sales of IGA products and products that are on special and a percentage of those sales are put aside to go to community groups. Meredyth Rae, on Friday 4 March, officially handed over three cheques to Bernadette Newton from the Bulahdelah Show Society, Joanne Miles from the Bulahdelah Soccer Club and Jackie O’Connell who was representing Bulahdelah Central School. A formal thank you was expressed from the community groups. Bulahdelah Soccer Club presented their Certificate of Appreciation to IGA Bulahdelah which will be displayed in the shop. “We donate money from the Community Chest to the community groups that have requested funding for a particular cause,” said Jenny Glynn, Assistant Manager of IGA Bulahdelah. “Each year it is a different community group who will benefit. “We try and donate to two to three groups each time.”
