The trend of Little Street Libraries began in November 2015 in Sydney, and has been growing across the country ever since.

With over 150 libraries scattered around Australia, they can be found almost anywhere.

Founder of Little Street Libraries, Nick Lowe said, “The purpose of these libraries is to take a book, give a book and share a book.”

Unlike a normal library, no one needs to check the books in or out, simply exchange one book for another and continue the cycle of book swapping.

It’s a sustainable new incentive that allows you to enjoy books without the waste in landfill.

The Myall Coast is home to a series of Street Libraries, in all shapes and sizes, guaranteed to make you smile.

From converted fridges, to mini houses of books, you’ll be delighted to search through the free libraries and find a new favourite.

Currently in the Myall Coast there are a range of Street Libraries in Karuah, Hawks Nest, Bulahdelah, Stroud, Pindimar and North Arm Cove.

Now is the perfect time to dig through your bookshelves, grab a few books and head to your local Street Library, or even better, register your own Street Library, uniting the community, one book at a time.
