We’ve moved to what can only be described as one of the most beautiful areas in the country only to find that inner peace and joy still escapes us. If this sounds like you then maybe the answer lies in an upcoming book talk being held at the Tea Gardens Library. Mick Marcon, a teacher with the Losang Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre will be hosting a discussion on Friday 8 June on ‘How To Transform Your Life’. “It will cover a range of issues, from meditation and relaxation techniques, to coping with the stresses of life which we seem to have a lot more of these days,” Librarian Chris Shelly said. “His key issue will be how to meditate,” Chris added. “It’s not religious based, but open to anyone who wants to improve their state of mind or maybe help them cope with illness.” Buddhist meditation techniques have been practised by people for thousands of years. The Losang Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre, based in Mayfield, offers a modern presentation of Buddhism. Their classes are open to everybody, regardless of background or religious beliefs. If you’d like to learn more, bookings are essential through ‘Eventbrite.com.au’ or see the staff at the front desk at the Tea Gardens Library or give them a call on 4997 1265. This is a free event at the Library on Friday 8 June between 2.30pm to 3.30pm. By Margie TIERNEY
