Letter to the Editor: Basic courtesy and respect Opinion Property/Sports/Opinion - popup ad by News Of The Area - Modern Media - August 4, 2024 DEAR News Of The Area, AROUND 10.30am on the morning of Sunday 28 July at the Rotary Lookout off Parkes Street I was chatting to a group of young Argentinian men and women. They are working on farms in the Stuarts Point area. They were excited to see some whales out to sea and had a lot of questions for me about the history of Nambucca Heads and the best place to swim etc. A vehicle drove slowly past behind us and one of the people in the vehicle called out “Go back where you came from”, before the vehicle sped away. I was ashamed and dismayed. This area needs visitors including visitors to work in the farming sector. But in any case we all need basic courtesy and respect. I have since been told that this kind of behaviour is not unusual. The cowards in the vehicle Sunday morning did not wait for a response. I ask readers to call out this kind of behaviour if they see it. Regards, Gary RUMBLE, Nambucca Heads.
