Lemon Jam is a free, all ages, monthly music event held on the waterfront at beautiful Lemon Tree Passage, Port Stephens. Carla Edwards from Medowie told News Of The Area, “We have had a fantastic day!” “We saw the event advertised on social media last week, and it was the first we had heard of it.” “I’m so glad we came along, we’ll definitely be making this a regular event to attend as a family,” she said. Lemon Jam had live music, kids’ activities, face painting, raffles, food and lots of families having fun and relaxing on chairs and rugs around the grounds. Children also enjoyed the fantastic adjacent playground and enclosed sea swimming pool, Playing live on the day at this month’s Lemon Jam was ‘The Broke Boys”, a well known band from the Hunter Valley. They had the kids up and dancing, and impressed the crowds relaxing in the sunshine. The Lions Club were on hand with sausage and steak sandwiches, and there’s always the nearby waterfront cafes and takeaways if you need a caffeine fix, burger, or scone and cream. One of the event organisers, Sheree Davey, told News Of The Area, “We would like to thank the Tilligerry Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Port Stephens Council and the Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club, because they all contribute considerable funds, as well as the generous local businesses who contribute goods and services that we raffle.” “The proceeds of anything we raise each month goes straight back into our event, and provides the funds needed for the next Lemon Jam.” “We run this event with volunteers from the Chamber of Commerce, individual people who just love the event, and other local community groups such as the Lemon Tree Passage Parks, Reserves and Tidy Towns, so it is a true community event,” she said.
