The President’s award went to Angela Randell, Best and Fairest, Christine Carter. Highest Point Scorer was awarded to Tayla Cooke. Clarissa Mitchell won the Coach’s award. Melissa Pitfield the Players Player. Captain Coach Ngaire White received the Trainers Award and best defence went to the youngest member of the team 14 year old Amy McKeough. In their first year together as a team, the Lady Hawks made the semifinals, no mean feat as many of the side had never played before. But they won’t have much time to rest. They’re due to start training again in November with many of the women joining mixed comps over the summer. “Our aim is to keep our fitness up,” said Ngiare. The Lady Hawks are hoping more women and teenage girls will join the ranks so they can field 2 Oztag teams next season. They also have the full support of the Hawks Rugby League fraternity.
