THE Final of the Club Championship Pairs was a hard fought contest, where the lead changed constantly.

Ultimately, Dean Gemmell and Peter Griffith grabbed victory over Frank Raczka and Mick Ashford by a narrow margin of 17-14, in what was one of the most entertaining games of bowls, with tight heads the order of the day.

Well played by all players, congrats to all.

Our Monday Monthly Pairs saw Charles Doyle and Gary Hamilton take out 1st prize, Peter Griffith and Robbie Edwards came 2nd, while Jim and Suzie Gaskill took out the Bronze.

The Round Winners were B.Isaac/T.Miles, M.Ashford/S.McGregor, and J.Ciampa/J.Leo.

In Wednesday Social Bowls the winners were Viv Gunter, Ian Orr and Dave Jones.

The Runners Up were Peter Mauger, Andrew Richards and Steve McGregor.

In the Saturday Cashpot Triples, Marg Ashford, Steve McGregor and Mick Ashford came in first, with two wins.

Runners Up was drawn, so two teams claimed the consolation. Bill O’Donnell, Jean Donald and Budgie Brecard drew with Lyn Stuttard, Terry Miles and Mick Stuttard on wins, ends and margins!

Karen Rogan, Carol Cheers and Paddy Bristow grabbed third prize.

Upcoming events includes the Club Championship Mixed Pairs, next Sunday (16-June) at 10am, the Classic Fours on 6-7 July, the Championship Mixed Pairs starts on 16th June, and Monday Monthly Pairs will be held on 1 July.

A special Flag Raising of our recently won State Division 4 Pennant will be held on 19 July.

It’s requested that members attend this special event in full uniform.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 12:30 (names in by 11:30), and Friday Jackpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start.
