The 24 year old won his bout against Sydney opponent Oscar Doane in a unanimous decision at the Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.

“At the stare down before the fight started, I had a lot of crowd support but looking into his eyes, he wasn’t intimidated at all so I knew he was going to be tough,” Daniel told News Of The Area.

The fight was over four 2 minute rounds.

Before the year is out Daniel wants to defend his title against Jack Littlefield from Orange who was the last person to beat him in a controversial decision earlier this year.

“When we fought, I felt like I outclassed him, unfortunately the judges didn’t see it that way.”

“Hopefully I can fight him again, this time I won’t leave it up for debate”.

Daniel is a busy lad, studying at University and working part time at the Karuah Timber Mill.

He also has his sights set on the Australian Boxing League Titles held in Melbourne in late November.

“The tournament runs over three days with the best fighters from across Australia battling it out for the crown of Australian Champion.”

“I’m currently looking for sponsors to help me out and send me to Melbourne and hopefully come home with the gold.”
