SATURDAY the Karuah Roos travelled to Clarence Town to take on the Cobra’s, Game Day Sponsor was the Karuah RSL Club.

With the Roos kicking off and running downhill on Clarence Town uneven field, Clarence Town missed catching the kickoff and the Roos scored on the first set off six. Kane Chisholme was in 4/0.

It was a hard-hitting game not to mention the field being very dry and hard.

The Cobras were the next to score 5 minutes into the first half 6/4. 13 minutes in and Roos Mitch O’Bryan was the next to score with Sam Croese converting the Roos were back in front 10/6.

The Metre men for the Roos in the first half were Jack Croese, Aiden Bills, Mitch O’Bryan, Daniel Evans, Sam Croese, Kane Chisholme, Jake Blanch, Mitch Turvey, Aaron Benn, Ben Feeney, Tyson Peters, David Dodd, Dylan Foley and Adam Crampton.

Halfway through the first half and Mitch O’Bryan was over under the black dot for his second try of the game and again Sam Croese converting to take the score to Karuah 16 Clarence Town 6.

Within 3 minutes Clarence Town countered with a successfully converted try Roos 16 Cobras 12. The 2 minutes later they were in again to equal the score 16 all.

The Big Hitters in the first half for the Roos were Kane Chisholme, Tim Johnson, Daniel Evans, Adam Crampton, Mitch Turvey, Tyson Peters, Aaron Benn, Sam Croese, Aiden Bills, Jack Croese, Justin Anderson, David Dodd, Ben Feeney and Jake Blanch.

Just under 3 minutes to go and cap/coach Daniel Evans was in for the Roos. The halftime score was Karuah 20 Clarence Town 16.

The second half started with both teams having walking wounded with Clarence Town down to 18 players and Karuah 17.

Karuah’s Aiden Bills caught an intercept from just under the halfway line and he was away to put it down under the black dot, with Sam Croese converting 26/16.

The Roos defence kept the Cobras out until 24 minutes to go in the second half Cobras 20 Roos 26.

The Roos were the next to score 2 minutes later Mitch O’Bryan was in under the black dot for his hat trick of the game and Sam Croese converting 32/20.

The Runners in the second half for the Roos were Aiden Bills, Tyson Peters, Adam Crampton, Mitch O’Bryan, Sam Croese, Hake Blanch, Jack Croese, Ben Feeney, Mitch Turvey, Aaron Benn, Simi Asomua, Dylan Foley and David Dodd.

With 18 minutes to go Aiden Bills stretched out and over the heads of the Cobras to put the ball down for his second of the day and again Sam Croese converted to take the score to Roos 38 Cobras 20.

The Hitmen in the second half for the Roos were Tim Johnson, Daniel Evans, Justin Anderson, Simi Asomua, Adam Crampton, David Dodd, Ben Feeney, Tyson Peters, Mitch Turvey, Mitch O’Bryan, Jake Blanch, Aaron Benn, Sam Croese and Aiden Bills.

With 6 minutes to go the Cobras were in with a converted try to take the full time score to Karuah 38 Clarence Town 26.

Players player 3 points went to the hat trick man Mitch O’Bryan, 2 points to Daniel Evans and 1 point was a three-way tie between Tim Johnson, Sam and Jack Croese. Sponsor Choice went to the intercept King Aiden Bills and Coaches Award was Justin Anderson.

Next week is our last game of the 2018 season and our Last HOME game it is against Tea Gardens Hawks 2.30 kickoff on Saturday, Game Day Sponsor is Karuah Landscaping Supplies.

It is also our Men In League Round and we will be holding our OLD BOYS/ SPONSORS DAY. After the game, the Karuah Motor Yacht Club are putting on a band over at the Yacht Club 5pm start too late. There will be food available as well as the courtesy bus will be running.
