Karuah Roos and Rooettes seal big wins at home

 

KARUAH Rugby League hosted their first double header of the season on Saturday, with the Roos and Rooettes both in action.

The Karuah Rooettes took on the Abermain Hawks in a game which would put one of the two teams to the top of the ladder.

The Rooettes Bec Roe was first to score with Ebony Oakley converting to take the score to 6-0.

Kayla Campbell then scored to take the score to 10-0 at halftime.

Captain Tamara Lilley was first to score in the second half with Ebony Oakley converting for 16-0.

Then Jacqui Gornall scored to make it 20-0, Ebony Oakley scored next to take it to 24-0, before Macey Elvidge scored to take the final score to 28-0.

The win takes the Rooettes on the top of the ladder.

Next Saturday the Rooettes take on Abermain again at Howe Park Abermain, kick off 3pm.

The Karuah Roos then went up against the Tea Gardens Hawks.

The Roos Captain Mitch O’Bryan scored two tries, with Aiden Bills converting one to take the score to 10-0.

Then Aiden Bills scored and converted his own try for 16-0.

Luke Perry was next to score and Aiden converted to extend the Roos lead to 22-0.

Mitch O’Bryan then crossed the line for his hat trick with Aiden converting to make it 28-0.

Jack Bills was next to score with Aiden converting for 34-0.

Mitch Baker was next to score and Aiden converted to take the half time score to Roos 40 Hawks 0.

Second half saw Mitch Baker in for his second of the day with Mitch O’Bryan converting for 46-0.

Next to score was Mitch Turvey, with Aiden converting for 52-0.

When Mitch O’Bryan went in for his fourth try of the day, Aiden converted his eighth to make it 58-0.

Daniel Evans was next to score and converted his own try to take the final score to Roos 64 Hawks 0.

The Roos are at home on Saturday against Dungog, kick off 3pm.
