Karuah resident Bob Ingle talks about retirement FEATURED Karuah, North Arm Cove by NOTA - November 5, 2014 My retirement was one of the best moves in my life. I chose the time at 60 and slowed down over the next five years by working part time doing work that I liked. I pruned roses for friends. Propagating them as well as other plants and giving them away. We decided to downsize after selling our home on a large block of land. We travelled by caravan for 6 months from WA to NSW and relaxed with no firm plans except to eventually settle near family in Tea Gardens. Our best advice to people intending to retire is just do it but slowly. Then when you have stopped, remain mentally and physically active by playing sport, walking and volunteering for positions in the community you live in. Avoid positions that can cause stress. Look after your health needs as a priority to ensure a long life.
