To mark the occasion, Principal Mrs Julie Hubbard joined with P&C representative Mrs April Lilley, to cut the official ribbon to the new facility. Special guests, including Port Stephens MP Kate Washington, Karuah RSL Secretary/Manager Ross Parr and Coles Tea Gardens Managers, Craig and Alex, joined the celebrations. Mrs Henry said The Red Cross were also acknowledged for their ongoing, valued support to the school. Other invited guests, including P&C members, Brekky Club volunteers, parents, carers and community members were also on hand to help celebrate the occasion. Mrs Henry said following the official ceremony, the facilities were immediately put to the test, with a free lunch served from the upgraded canteen. “The whole school and the visitors had a yummy barbecue lunch, as well as hot cross buns and fruit,” she said.
