Travelling to appointments in Newcastle while unwell can be very taxing especially if you are busy trying to cope with family, and work as well. To commemorate local groups that help Women Westpac Bank Manager, Jason Russell, responded to an Australia-wide competition organised by Head Office to recognise International Women’s Day. Christine Walton told News Of The Area, “The request was to nominate a group which helps local women. “Jason immediately thought of Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group Inc as he has worked closely with President Taurie Lalor and her Group in the past,” she said. The submissions went before a judging panel and Jason was successful. Recently Jason presented Westpac’s cheque for $500 to Taurie and her newly-appointed Committee members: Virginia Smith (Treasurer) and Jan Puckeridge (Secretary). As an organisation the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group is incredibly active supporting local women and they need your help. Can you drive someone to appointments? The group is also looking for ladies with a flair for organising to work with the committee to organise their two major fundraisers each year which funds the support of breast cancer patients.
