Police are appealing for information to piece together the final moments of a woman whose body was found on the state’s Far North Coast yesterday.

Just before 7.30am (Thursday 18 August 2016), emergency services were called to Pollards Road, Dulguigan, following reports of a fire.

Police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command attended and located a burnt body.

The body has been formally identified as Sabrina Bremer, a 34-year-old woman from the Logan area in South East Queensland.

Ms Bremer was reported missing to Logan Police yesterday, after last speaking with a family member on Tuesday (16 August 2016).

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, with a medium build, dark brown hair with red highlights, and a stud-piercing below her lower-right lip.

Initial inquiries indicate Ms Bremer was in the Logan area on Monday evening. At the time, she was wearing a black jumper with a red t-shirt underneath, and light-blue jeans, with rips in the knees.

Strike Force Faringdon has been established by investigators from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Tweed/Byron Local Area Command to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s suspected murder.

Investigators are also working closely with Homicide detectives from Queensland Police Service.

No official cause of death has been determined at this stage; however Ms Bremer had sustained serious burns to most of her body.

Police are continuing to piece together Ms Bremer’s movements throughout the week and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or spoken with her during this time to come forward.

Investigators would also like to remind members of the public that information can be provided anonymously.

As the investigation is still in its infancy, no further information can be provided at this time.
