Joining the returning sports of Rugby League, Netball and Football Fives, Boxing and Basketball were contested for the first time this year.
In a wonderful display of culture, sportsmanship and identity, a plethora of Indigenous nations took out titles this year in recognition of their tournament efforts.
Without fail each and every year, the Nations Rugby League Tournament draws the biggest crowd of the week.
The results of the League tournament were: Gumbaynggir as plate male winner, Awabakal B as Plate male runners-up, Awabakal A as plate female winner, and Wiradjuri Ochres as plate female runners-up.
Wiradjuri South were the trophy male winners, Darug West were the trophy male runners-up, Awabakal B were the trophy female winners, and Wonnarua Cessnock were the female runners-up.
Cup male winners were Darug, cup male runners-up were Yuin North, cup female winners were Darkinjung – Bateau Bay and cup female runners-up were Eora.
The individuals winners for the first year of Boxing were: Peter Lee (Darkinjung), Jyah Kent (Biripi), Jeremy Biles (Biripi), Ryan Barto (Darkinjung), Adam Woodger (Awabakal) and Noah Chami (Darug).
The Nations of Origin Boxing Championship Winner overall was Biripi Nation.
Football Fives results were: Awabakal 1 as male winners, Darkinjung as male runners-up, Tharawal as female winners and Awabakal 1 as female runners-up.
The Basketball competition saw some closely fought games, with the following nations taking the trophies.
Under 14 Boys winner was Biripi, with Awabakal (Lake Macquarie) as runners-up.
Under 14 Girls winner was Biripi A, and Biripi B as runners-up.
Under 16 Boys winner was Birpai, with Worimi as runners-up.
Under 16 Girls winners were also Birpai, with Barkindji as runners-up.
