Hunter River High School student enjoys equestrian success at NSW Interschool Championships

Abbey riding Special Edition (AKA Elvis).

HUNTER River High School year 12 student Abbey Lonsdale recently participated in the NSW Interschool Championships for equestrian at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

Abbey enjoyed some wonderful results, riding her horse ‘Special Edition’ (also known as Elvis).

Abbey and Elvis took out third place in the Secondary Combined Training (jumping and dressage) and fourth place in Elementary Dressage.

This has qualified the duo for the Nationals to be held in Melbourne in September 2023.

“I’ve been riding my whole life and competing for a few years, winning Youth Nationals back in 2018,” Abbey Lonsdale told News Of The Area.

“This year we will be competing around my HSC, but I want to take advantage of how well Elvis is performing and my final year of school.”

Karina Chambers, Community Liaison Officer at Hunter River High School said, “We wish Abbey and Elvis the best of luck!”
