VERY humble beginnings best describes MacLeod’s Furniture and Beds R Us.

What originated as One Stop Pine Furniture Warehouse in 2002, is now the largest family owned furniture, lounge and bedding retailer on the Coffs Coast.

“It has been a fun evolution of business,” said Andrew MacLeod.

“I would not have believed that back in 2002 with $20,000 in the bank I could buy my share in a pine shop, and with no experience in furniture.

“Actually I didn’t even know what a buffet was, and I couldn’t explain the features of various timber species. I would have not dreamed that we would expand into multiple locations and licence national brands like Furniture Court, Beds R Us and LaZboy Gallery.

“I have always believed that we must trade to the principles of having quality product, having product at good prices, and that product must be in stock and available for immediate delivery.

“But most importantly all our team members really like to serve and help customers.

“We are very fortunate to continue our relationships with some of our customers from the early years, and over the years we have seen their kids grow up and now some of their kids have their own kids.

“Over the years, we have traded through some interesting times, including the GFC and Covid-19, but the Coffs Harbour floods in 2009 were the most challenging,” said Mr MacLeod.

“Both of our shops went under water not once, but twice that year and we had to write off a million dollars worth of stock.

“HomeBase is a great destination and has been the perfect location to build MacLeod’s Furniture and Beds R Us business from. If you haven’t seen us for a while I encourage you to pop in.”
