A member of the community who fundraises for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and a member of the Friendship Group of Port Stephens.

When we caught up with Margaret she was busy helping out with raising funds for the CWA.

Margaret obviously has her finger in a lot of pies in the community as she also runs the meditation subgroup of the Friendship Group of Port Stephens, in relaxing mindfulness bi monthly.

IT costs a mere $18 million dollars to buy a Westpac Rescue Helicopter and local Margaret Wiblow is working hard to raise funds for the cause.

As a token of thanks Margaret encourages members of the Friendship Group to collect their 5c pieces to donate to helping the Westpac Helicopter.

Communities around the coast benefit as do those inland from Newcastle to Lismore with helicopters stationed at both these sites and at Tamworth.

Margaret Wiblow told News Of The Area, “At $18 million dollars each fundraising for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is very important.”

She believes that the service is vital to our community.

“With over 37 volunteer support groups and 1000 members the network that keeps the helicopters flying is as vast as the area it services.”

The Friendship Group of Port Stephens 5 cent pieces add up to help keep the service in the air.
