Huge book Sale Success for Rotary Club of Myall Coast

The Rotary Club of Myall Coast held their fourth, two day Annual January Book Sale with about 8,000 books on sale, visitors and locals flocked to the Hawks Nest community hall to take advantage of the bargains available.

Held in conjunction with the Tea Gardens Library, the collection of books was made up of superseded titles from the Library and books donated to the Rotary Club by our local Community during the year.

Because of the great beach weather for the holiday-makers, the numbers were down a little on last year but overall, the sale was most successful.

A healthy donation will be made to the Library and the balance of funds raised will be distributed to local sporting, educational and welfare organisations later in the year.

There was a great representation by the members of the Hawks Nest Tea Gardens Surf Lifesaving Club who lent their younger and stronger backs to the moving of the boxes of books.

All the Rotarians  involved were most appreciative of their generous contribution to the ‘effort’ and time required in setting up the sale.

The Rotary Club will be running their “Easter Book Sale” again this year over the three day Easter weekend.

Anyone wishing to contribute books to the sale may do so by contacting a Rotarian for a pick-up or by dropping them off at Pelican Pest Control.

Rotary President Geoff Latona and members of the Club would like to thank our Community for their continued support of this great fund-raising event. All proceeds are used to support organisations within the local area.

WELL SUPPORTED: The popular book sale main floor.

MEN WITH SPINE: John Taylor, Brian Oakley and Ian Mackenzie-Smith having a well earned break.
