Home invasion Lake Macquarie Regional News by NOTA - October 29, 2014 Police have commenced inquiries after a man was seriously injured during a home invasion in the state’s Hunter Region, Dora Creek. The 32-year-old man was confronted by two men inside his home on Cowell Street, Dora Creek about 6.20am today (Wednesday 29 October 2014). The intruders forced entry and assaulted the man with a piece of wood. They also threw a pot of boiling water from the stove onto the man causing burns to his back and arms. The men fled empty-handed in a vehicle and emergency services were alerted. Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene. The injured man was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital and is receiving treatment for second-degree burns to his back and arm and bleeding on the brain. He is currently in a stable condition. An investigation is underway and police are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate the men involved.
