The weekend was part of their ongoing activity camps, programs aimed at creating friendships, team building and of course lots of fun.

“The group stayed at the Reflections Holiday Park in Hawks Nest and took part in various water based activities,” James Blizzard from Ezy Kayaks said.

“We were thrilled to have the opportunity to assist in making the weekend memorable for the group,” James said.

“It’s these sorts of activities that help to build resilience for these young people that have either suffered from or been affected by Cancer in their lives.”

The children’s Charity CanTeen delivers a range of support services, including specialist treatments, peer support and online and face-to-face counselling.

The group was supervised by CanTeen Staff and Volunteers including Robyn Leacy, Ashley Manney and Jess Skinner.

“Over the weekend local businesses were generous to the group with their donations,” James said. “Benchmark on Booner supplied the breakfast on Saturday morning, the Tea Gardens Hotel donated Pizzas for the lunch on Sunday and Tea Gardens Kombucha supplied boxes of drinks for the thirsty group,” James said.

“It just illustrates how generous these businesses are with their time and getting involved.”

Ezy kayaks has also been raising funds during October for Bandanna Day which happens on Friday 26 October.

Each Bandanna costs just $5.00 and all money goes directly to ‘Canteen’.

Bandannas can be bought at Ezy Kayaks launch site in Moira Parade, Hawks Nest, Hugo’s Newsagency in Hawks Nest or by calling Ezy Kayaks on 0414 337 246.
