Natasha Reece, Project Officer – Communities for Children Raymond Terrace and Karuah for The Smith Family told News Of The Area, “The day will open with a Welcome to Country by Uncle Neville Lilley, local Worimi elder.” There will also be a free BBQ cooked by the Lions Club of Tilligerry and plenty of fun activities for kids and parents including face painting, playgroup, arts and crafts, games and performances. “As an organising group we have made a commitment to a day with minimal environmental impact and part of this will include setting up recycling stations and demonstrations of how you can safely use items around the home as toys for children,” she said. The focus of the Garden Party is on Family Health, Wellbeing and Education. There will be a number of vendors at the event including our partners Save the Children Australia, KU Children’s Services, The Family Action Centre, Interrelate Ltd and Samaritans Foundation. It will also include other community and health organisations such as Centre for Hope, Defence Veterans Affairs, Benevolent Society, Hunter Primary Care, Lifestyle Solutions, Port Stephens Council, Raymond Terrace Public School , Vinnies, Community Transport, and Hume Housing.
