You must be driven, disciplined and have an eye to identify a product or service that people need which will one day, provide you with security.

You have to develop marketing skills and be able to find your own work as rarely does the work fall into your lap until you are well established.

Small business owners need to understand how to budget, keep records and advertise their business.

Saying goodbye to a regular weekly wage can be hugely stressful as well as wearing the many hats one must wear from CEO to the office cleaner.

It takes courage to start a business and while it is exciting to be in the driver’s seat there are so many challenges you will face.

Sounds exhausting and often it is.

Never fear, you will soon hear the sounds of a fiery white horse, a cloud of dust and a hearty “Hi-ho Silver”, yes it’s the Lone Ranger to the rescue.

Lone Rangers Business Network is a group formed to unite solo business operators, entrepreneurs, freelancers, consultants, one man and even two man bands.

Cheryl Royle and Janelle Gerrard created Lone Rangers Business Network as it was clear to them that no one was catering just for the micro businesses.

Both are veterans of running their own businesses and believe that if you “build it and they will come”.

“While the diverse range of tasks can be a fun part of running a small business, often a requirement is that you learn new skills on the fly,” Cheryl Royle told News Of The Area.

“We knew it was important to provide support and education for micro business owners,” Ms Royle said.

“We are currently undertaking plans to bring Lone Rangers to the Tomaree Peninsula in the very near future, so please watch this space,” Ms Royle said.

“Lone Rangers began in August 2016 and we have had a great response with many past networking meetings being full of fun, engagement, learning and making connections,” Janelle Gerrard added.
