“If you have ever wanted to learn about cake decorating, for a home baker for fun or to learn new skills and techniques as a more experienced decorator, this is the one for you,” Carol Williams, Secretary, CASA told News Of The Area.

“We have some great demonstrations on offer this year by some very talented demonstrators in a relaxed, fun, enjoyable setting.”

The demonstrators will show you how to make Flowers in Chocolate, another demo is titled Good Sports with the demonstrator making a sporty figurine which can be adapted to any sport, and you get to see tips and techniques required to create a panda bear cake topper.

Taking place on Saturday 10 September, starting at 9.30am, the venue is the club’s regular meeting place, The Salvation Army Hall, 40 Mastracolas Road, Coffs Harbour.

CASA members get together regularly in Coffs on the second Saturday of each month for meetings and workshops.

“We are a not-for-profit group and more of a social group than anything else,” said Carol.

“We have a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, providing encouragement and support for each other in the craft of cake decorating.

“Each year we hold a demonstration day where we invite demonstrators from other clubs or interstate to pass on their skills and demonstrate various techniques.

“This year we are fortunate to have demonstrators travelling from other clubs and guests will get to see several different demonstrations on the day.”

CASA supports the Coffs Coast Meals on Wheels and Coffs Harbour Show with sponsorship.

Members enter the cake decorating classes at the Coffs Show with great success across junior to open categories.

With the aim of the group being simply, ‘Sharing the Art with Friendship and Harmony’ the members share skills, practice new techniques, and keep up to date with all the latest trends in cake decorating.

“We also receive a regular newsletter with lots of information, instruction notes and much more.

“We welcome enquiries from new members,” said Carol.

CASA is part of a state-wide club and on the web at www.cakedirectory.com and www.casa-nsw.org.
