“November 3, sees the second round of the Streets Surf Boat races coming to our own Bennetts Beach,” Peter Rogers told News Of The Area.

“Our local crews will be taking on the best from the Central Coast and Newcastle including our Open Men’s crew racing against last year’s Australian representative crew from Avoca Beach.”

“It will be a great spectacle and awesome to see our own Hawks Nests crews so competitive against the best in NSW,” Peter said.

The skills of the surfboat rowers will certainly be on show.

Peter said, “Outside of the Australian Crew, the Ocean Beach Whoo Ha Ha, Silver medallists at last year’s Australian Titles in Perth, will be leading the women’s battle, while even the Masters crews are dominated by Australian championship medallist rowers.”

From under 19’s, both ladies and men, through to Opens and Masters, there will be all divisions of surfboat racing on show including our present Under/19 and Open Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Hunter Branch representative crews.

Action commences at 9am and is scheduled to go until 1pm.

Peter added, “There will be great viewing from the beach and the Surf Club veranda where everyone is welcome and the bar will open at the conclusion of the racing.”
