The weather was as good as its gets for the last Hawks Nest Golf Club Social Club – Fishing Club. A mammoth number of anglers signed up for the weekend of fishing where you all are angling from 4pm Friday until Sunday afternoon using the recreational bag limit for 24 hours over the three days for our club’s responsible sustainable angling methods. The last angling weekend for the current year was held 21 – 23 April 2017. The weekend angling champion and men’s division winner for the weekend is Darby Neville who excelled all weekend catching snapper, bream, tailor and bonito. The men’s division running up angler was Robert Bartlett who caught a bag of bream, a flathead and a tailor. The ladies division weekend angling champion was Gail Barlett who caught some great bream, a flathead and a tailor. The ladies division running up angler was Michelle Cole also catching another impressive bag of fish. The junior angling champion was Daisy Wheaton who caught a great catch of tailor. The mystery fish drawn from the weigh master’s secret collection of species was a drummer and was not won. Great Angling. By Luke BOYD
