THURSDAY, 23rd November. HAWKS NEST GOLF CLUB LADIES ANNUAL MEETING 2023

On Saturday 18th November, over 50 golfing ladies gathered to vote in their new committee for 224 and to deal with any other matters pertaining to golf. The following ladies were elected:

President: Debbie Matheson, V. President Maxine Mitchell, Captain: Jo Butttey, Secretary: Marcia Smith, Treasurer: Dawn Wiggins, 3 committee ladies: Chris Simmons, Caroline Affleck, Trish Sattler.

The position of V. Captain was not taken and remains vacant as of today. The 2023 committee wishes all these ladies a great 2024 season.

2024 LADIES PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES AND LUNCHEON

Congratulations go to all winners of the many trophies handed out and BIG thank you to the many business’ and ladies who donated these prizes as well as the Ladies Committee. The View Room was decorated out in red and white balloons and thanks go to Debbie Matheson who could not be with us today, but had arranged for the President, Captain and myself, Elsa to receive lovely bouquets of flowers to say thank you for all work done during the year.

During the afternoon we were entertained by the lovely voice of Joan Eastman, one of our Saturday golfers and we thank her for giving up her day and coming along.

Our Lady Gross Champion for 2023 was Helen Haynes with Div. 2 Champion Trish Collins, Div. 3 Champion Pamela Keegan. The Nett Champions were
Div. 1 Kathy Griffiths, Div. 2 D. Bowes, Div. 3 Sharon Barwick. The Short Course (Grey tees) Champions were Div. 1 D. Sainty and Div. 2 D.

O’Brien, Nett Champions Div. 1 D. Davis, Div. 2 T. Sattler. There were too many trophies to name them all, however, they were all well deserved
and we thank Jo Buttrey our Captain for putting the trophies together and working on the many spreadsheets throughout the year to make sure all count backs were correct.

Our Pro Andrew McCormack together with his lovely wife Emily attended on the day and were with us for the delicious luncheon and we thank them both for their input throughout the year. Unfortunately some of our sponsors, Secretary Manager & President of Golf Club could not be with this year to celebrate, however, we did enjoy the company of several of our ladies who no longer play golf with us. As always we remember ladies who are on our sick list and could not attend and we wish them all speedy recovery.
