Gai Newman, Manager of the Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre told News Of The Area that while VoiceUp meetings are open to all survivors of any type of abuse and their supporters, the next meeting on 25 November will also include visiting knowmore presenters Sigrid Herring, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Officer; lawyer Maree Selvaraj and senior lawyer Amy Griffiths to provide general information about the National Redress Scheme, the work of knowmore and the help available. Knowmore provides free and independent legal advice and support services to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse; which includes people who were sexually abused at school, in a sporting club, children’s service, orphanage, foster care, residential care, religious organisation, government organisation or any organisation that worked with or cared for children. They can help you lodge complaints, find old records and access specialist services and cultural support.
