The Medowie Futsal Centre was well represented with six players representing Northern New South Wales at the championships.

Hayley Moore’s U16G team finished runners up in a close contest between them and NNSW Central Coast.

Alyssa Hogan’s U13G team also finished runners up to Queensland North Coast, with Alyssa also being awarded the Golden Boot for the most goals in her division.

Alyssa told News of the Area, “I was excited to receive the golden boot for the 13 girls. I want to travel more overseas to represent Australia as I did travel to Barcelona, Spain earlier this year.”

Dane McKimm’s U8’s team reached the semi-finals but were outdone by a classy NSW (Sydney) team.

Ashton Morrissey and Lucas Caines were in the NNSW U11 black team, reaching the quarter finals where they were defeated.

Alex Moore’s U11 blue team finished just out of reach of the finals in 5th spot.

The experience gained in Brisbane has given the players more incentive for the National Futsal Championships in Sydney to be held in January 2020.

Over the four days of competition the players played a high level of Futsal and had the opportunity to be seen by National Selectors for International Tours next year.
