JUST over a quarter of a million dollars has been granted to build the overall offering of the inaugural Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival.

Amplify Events, the foodie festival organisers, have received a $225,500 funding boost from the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund to upscale the original plan for the festival.

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh officially congratulated Amplify Events on this important funding injection for the festival, which will be celebrated across various local venues from 4-13 June.

“The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival will become a significant event on our social calendar, and it will be a major drawcard for local foodies and visitors who are set to spend up in local shops, cafes and businesses,” said Mr Singh.

Speaking on behalf of the festival, Lindsay Russell, Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival Director, told News Of The Area, “This grant is allowing us to celebrate the Coffs Coast foodie scene with the addition of a finale weekend boasting live music, food trucks and more.

“We will be able to boost tourism and showcase what this region has to offer to a larger audience.

“Plus, aren’t we all in need of more live music after these past few years,” she said.

The festival will be a mixture of dining sessions, workshops and digital experiences, featuring live music and art installations to create an immersive, multi-sensory dining experience.

“This State Government funding will help take the festival and live music performances for each dining experience to the next level,” added Mr Singh.

Amplify Events Director Dave Mansfield said, “We’re extremely excited to bring the Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival to life right across the whole region from Bellingen to Woolgoolga and locations in between, culminating in a multi-day food and music festival at Jetty Beach House, Coffs Harbour.

“It’s been a really difficult time for hospitality businesses over the past few years, and the Festival aims to shine a light on the fantastic food scene in the region and showcase top restaurants, bars and producers to both locals and domestic visitors.

“With the support of the NSW Government, this event will be a great opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the best that this region has to offer.”
