BULAHDELAH Tennis Club’s Autumn Mixed Night Competition has come to an end with thrilling grand final matches played over the past two week. In Division One, Michael Clouten, David Schlenert (playing for Russel Guthrie), Meredyth Rae and Thora-Lou Smith defeated Jordan Guthrie, Richard Rae, Nathan Grimshaw (playing for Bernadette Newton) and Terri Burrows, 4 sets to 2. In Division Two Ashley Styles (playing for Fay Morgan), Del Montague, Charlotte Rae and Caleb Grimshaw defeated Andrew Garemyn, Tamara Gooch, Gloria Watt and Brandon Watt, 4 sets to 2. The Division Twogrand final was extra special for Brandon Watt who celebrated his 16th birthday. Brandon’s mum Leoniebrought along a cake with 16 candles and all players and spectators joined in the singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ before happily sharing the delicious cake.
