TASTY snags from some of the region’s best chefs are on the menu at Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on 27 November 2021 with proceeds going to the Coffs Harbour chapter of OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation.

For each $1 raised at this sausage sizzle for OzHarvest, the organisation says two meals will be donated towards someone in need.

“The day brings chefs from a selection of the best restaurants in the region volunteering their sizzling skills to raise funds for The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival’s official good cause, OzHarvest,” Lindsay Russell from The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival told News Of The Area.

Taking a fresh spin on the classic sausage, onion, sauce and bread – the organisers promise a range of
delicious handmade sausages and garnishes as the chefs and business owners rotate throughout the day.

“We are donating all profits from the Sausage Sizzle to OzHarvest as well as $1 for each ticket sold to The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival in March.

“Julie from the local OzHarvest team will be attending the Sausage Sizzle.

“We are also planning an art auction which will have the goal of raising even more funds for this great cause.

“We have plans to collaborate with OzHarvest to increase local food rescue efforts from businesses we’re working with which will, in turn, lead to more meals.”

Julie Ferguson, founder of the OzHarvest Coffs chapter, told News Of The Area, “I’m very pleased and grateful to be receiving the proceeds from the OzSizzle on Saturday 27 November.

“This will assist us with the everyday costs of running our chapter.”

The Bunnings Sausage Sizzle is just a taste of some of the Dining Experiences and Foodie Workshops that will be on offer throughout the food festival happening in the region from March 4 – 13, 2022.

Restaurants and businesses participating in the festival include The Mermaid Beach House, Bar Que Sera, Ground Earth Cafe, The Hilltop Store, Tish Faco, The Athletic Club, Yarrawarra Cultural Centre, Bite Food Tours, and more.
