THE Coffs Hotel is celebrating St Patrick’s Day in style with an action packed line up of music and celebration from 10am on Thursday 17 March. Coffs Hotel patron Marty Phillips shared with News Of The Area what he believes are the ingredients to a great St Patrick’s Day. “Irish music with Guinness and Kilkenny on tap all day is a good start. “Lenny the Leprechaun is hilarious and he will be strutting his stuff from lunchtime singing songs, telling jokes and having good craic with the patrons. “For lunch we have Irish fare and of course Guinness stew and around dusk we have bagpipes from the Coffs Coast Pipe and Drums group. “It’s the luck of the Irish, a lot of people love the Irish and some want to be Irish, so it’s the day to get out and have good craic and celebrate. “It’s been a tough couple of years with Covid and now flooding, so it’s time to let your hair down, have fun and celebrate. “St Patrick’s Day is extra special for us as it coincides with the pub’s anniversary on 4 March, our family have been at the pub for 26 years. “We are one of the very few family owned pub’s left so we’ll be making it that extra special to mark the occasion. “Local band Unison will be playing in the front bar from 6pm so it’s going to be a great night,” said Marty. Often described as organic rock, Unison’s style is infectious and their tight grooves interwoven with catchy melodies always entertain. Unison guitarist Marty Bouma paid tribute to the contribution made by Marty and Donna Phillips over many years. “We are really looking forward to playing at the Coffs Hotel on St Paddy’s Day. “We have all had a long association with the pub from a musical point of view and we love what Marty and Donna have contributed to the local culture and music scene over the years,” said Bouma.
