It is a Statewide run activity designed to encourage individuals and families to get out in the fresh air and fish. In conjunction with the day, a special event called ‘Taylors Beach Family Fish Out’ is being organised by the Anna Bay Tavern Fishing Club. Sponsored by Brent Hancock of Tackleworld, the DPI and Anna Bay Tavern Fishing Club, the day promises to be a great family day out. There will be two fishing clinics being conducted on the day, one for women and one for the children. Added to that will be a guessing competition, a casting competition, and plenty of time allocated for ‘question and answer time’ with your local experienced anglers. “No secrets in regards to the top local fishing spots will be divulged,” Secretary of Anna Bay Tavern Fishing Club, Jacqui Ashby, told News Of The Area. “We are excited to have Brent Hancock from Tackleworld, Nelson Bay providing the prizes for the huge presentation at the end of the day,” Ms Ashby said. The fishing competition will start at 1pm, with prizes being awarded to men, women and children. Prizes include a Men’s and Women’s kit out which include a shirt, hat, tackle box and rod combo. You will not need a fishing licence for this event. There will be a Free Sausage Sizzle starting at 11am and running through to 1pm. Drinks will also be available for sale.
