Gibber to Gibber Annual Fishing comp at Myall Coast

The annual Gibber to Gibber was successfully held from the 10-12 July. The interclub competition, comprises of the Hawks Nest Golf Club Social Club (fishing division), Tea Gardens Country Club (fishing division) and Bulahdelah Bowling Club (fishing division).

The keen anglers were all determined to be part of the winning team, so fished to the best of their ability, and the catches showed.

Among the catch were enormous tailor, bream, drummer, groper, flathead and even whiting.

The winning teams score was tabulated through the total score of the top ten anglers for the weekend.

The winning team for the second year in a row was Tea Gardens Country Club (fishing division), second place Bulahdelah Bowling Club (fishing division) and third place Hawks Nest Golf Club Social Club (fishing division).

The individual clubs competitors had very good catches all round.

The junior champion was Megan Markham (Tea Gardens) weighing a few great tailor and the junior runner up was Poppy Rapley (Hawks Nest) who weighed a large tailor.

The ladies champion was Kerin Duncan (Bulahdelah) who had one of the biggest catches for the whole competition.

Kerin weighed tailor, luderick, whiting, bream and flathead. All great fish.

The ladies runner up also from the Bulahdelah club was Fiona Minute also weighing some great fish.

The men’s division was a tight affair with the victor weighing tailor over a kilogram each, large drummer and big bream.

The president from the Bulahdelah Bowling Club, Darren Carrall was the men’s winner.

The runner up was Thomas Evans with a bag full of fish that closely matched the winners.

Great fishing from all anglers and a great team effort from the hosting club made the weekend a continually successful event.

The mystery fish drawn was a whiting and Kerin Duncan(Bulahdelah) won with the largest whiting.  Great fishing and well done to everyone.
