YOGA has long been regarded as an activity that can change your physical and mental capacity quickly, while preparing the mind and body for long-term health.

A community initiative to offer the Yoga experience to others has brought about a wonderful community endeavour called Frontline Yoga – whose sole purpose is to give back to those who dedicate their working lives to helping others.

Frontline Yoga Incorporated is a Not-for-Profit Organisation that delivers Trauma Aware Yoga to members of the community at the Frontline.

Police, Paramedics, Firefighters, ADF members, Healthcare workers, SES/RFS and Surf Life Saver volunteers are all able to access free weekly Yoga classes.

Frontline Yoga’s main aim is to foster community and support networks, develop mental and physical strength, build resilience, a sense of peace and stillness as well as tools for self-regulation in order to optimise responses to occupational stress.

Lisette from Frontline Yoga told News Of The Area, “Yoga is not just about working out – it is about a healthy lifestyle.”

“The practice of yoga allows students to find stillness in a world consumed with chaos – Peace and tranquillity achieved through focused training appeals to everyone, and can be especially helpful to the people we offer our free classes to,” Lisette said.

Lisette, from B~Yoga, donates an hour of her teaching each week, and Joe from Fire Yoga donates studio time.

When the group receive any community donations, it allows them to donate straight back to the cause.

Frontline warriors & their families can attend classes for free.

Non-serving community members can also attend by making a donation

  1. We are very proud to have community members such as Joel and Lisette associated with Frontline Yoga Inc. They are a wonderful example of the power of community and service, giving back to those that serve the community.
