IF you are an advertising or marketing business, architect, graphic designer, visual or performance artist or an arts society or group, you’re invited to register for a free workshop in 2021. The workshop is led by creative practitioners with extensive business skills and aims to assist local creative businesses in developing business plans to ‘futureproof’ their operation, thanks to MidCoast Council and NSW Government funding. The workshop will be facilitated by ‘Creative Plus Business’ founded by Monica Davidson, a social enterprise dedicated to helping creative people and arts organisations develop business skills. The two day workshop will cover the basics of business, as well as take a deeperdives into entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing, and overcoming the challenges of sustaining and growing a creative business. “It is a real coup to bring The ‘Creative Plus Team’ to the MidCoast region to support our local creative businesses. The coaching will improve the base knowledge and capacity of local business operators to undertake this type of planning independently and will support the work Council and the local business chambers currently undertake,” said Robyn Brennan, Council’s Coordinator of Economic Growth. “It will cover a range of great planning tools and ideas to support your business whether you are established or just starting up.” The two-day workshop will take place at the Manning Entertainment Centre in Taree on Monday 22 February and Monday 8 March from 9.30am until 4.30pm. Bookings are essential and can be made via the online form at midcoast.nsw.gov.au/workshop. This workshop is proudly funded by the NSW Government Bushfire Community Resilience and Economic Recovery Fund, and supported by MidCoast Council.
