In lieu of their Christmas party, Ron Conaghan (Secretary) and Ray Peeters (President) donned Santa suits and delivered a Christmas cake with a bottle of wine to all the volunteers who have put in a great effort this past challenging year.

The volunteers pick up and take patients to their medical appointments and to hospital visits, providing a critical community service.

When COVID-19 restrictions commenced late last February, the bus ceased operations.

However, with safety practices in place, services resumed on 1 July but remain limited to two patients and the driver.

As the COVID-19 situation improves, the free clinic bus should be able to operate at full capacity
The service operates on Tuesdays transporting patients to Raymond Terrace and Maitland.

It also operates Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays transporting patients to Raymond Terrace and Newcastle.

Pick up can be arranged from homes in Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest, North Arm Cove, Bundabah, Pindimar and Karuah.

The service is available to all and being a pensioner is not a requirement.
